In this job, you’ll be expected to head up a full department or a mixed team where doctors, nurses and therapists work together in one area. It may be maternity, it may be the Emergency Department. Whatever it is, your knowledge and decision-making is vital in making sure your team and patients get the care they deserve.
Confident and intelligent, you are able to challenge the way things are and find better alternatives. You are very organised and a good communicator, with a willingness to work closely with others to find what is fair and right for patients.
To do this job, you will usually need to be a qualified and registered healthcare professional, such as a nurse, allied health professional, midwife or doctor, and may need training or experience in relevant clinical areas.
