Benefits and Change Manager

THE WORKING DAY

You’re based in the old ramp wards at Castle Hill Hospital, modern offices known as ‘The Suites’. You are part of the hdigital Support and Implementation team and it is your job to work with the Benefits and Change Managers in delivering digital transformation across the hospital.

A paper document that is completed during an outpatient clinic appointment needs to become electronic. You are being asked to find out ‘why is there a need to move away from paper to electronic’; ‘who will be impacted by this change’ and ‘how are we going to deliver the change’.

Next, you take a look at the clinical computer systems we use for recording clinical information. You review the functionality and look at how it can be used to support the development of the electronic document. You would then help test the change and work with the Benefits and Change Managers to implement and deliver the change.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE ME?

You’re highly skilled with computers, enjoy problem solving and making a difference.  You can concentrate for long periods of time and pay attention to detail. You’re very responsible and communicate well with others.

WHAT'S NEXT?

To undertake this role you will need to be educated to degree level or a relevant Level 6 qualification. It may also be beneficial to undertake and successfully complete the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), Association of Project Managers Group (APMG) Change Management Foundation and APMG Managing Benefits.
