This page provides ways we can learn from excellence as an organisation and how we promote and share where things are working well.
Greatix
What is a Greatix?
A Greatix is a nomination form that any member of staff can submit in recognition of a colleague or team.
Submitting a Greatix enables us to capture positive events and improve safety by sharing and spreading the excellent work that happens at the trust. It is important to identify areas of good practice (as well as when things don’t go so well, which are reported on Datix) and ensure we create opportunities for learning.
Through the Greatix system we hope to give staff the opportunity to positively recognise their colleagues’ achievements with the added bonus that we can then share the examples with others to learn from their great(ix) work.
How do I nominate a colleague?
You can complete a nomination form and provide your colleague’s/team name and a short summary explaining their learning from excellence.
What happens next?
When you submit a Greatix form, the submissions will be reviewed by the Continuous Quality Improvement Team and the individual/team will receive a certificate of thanks from members of the Executive Team. The examples may also be shared on Pattie, in our Trust Lessons Shared bulletin, and through other means to spread the word!

Celebration events
Celebrating improvement and learning from excellence events are a great way to showcase improvement projects that are being undertaken across the Trust. On 28 November 2022, we were very proud to host our first Celebrating Improvement and Learning from Excellence Event to showcase improvement work taking place across the trust.
Would you like to showcase your improvement at a future celebration event? If so, please contact us at hyp-tr.qualityimprovement@nhs.net
We are pleased to share the recordings of our celebration events held so far and future events will uploaded throughout the year.
